解釋為何 "Based on my experience, I conclude that..." 不是正確的文法。
這樣的句型要注意的是，逗號後所接的主詞，要跟前方一樣。In other words, 要能夠 "be based on". "I am based on my experience"...的邏輯是有問題的。就如同下面這句話:
"Based on the results, we concluded that language aptitude plays a great role in adult second language acquisition." 後面的"we" 是不能 be based on 的，因此要改寫成:
Based on the results, our conclusion is that language aptitude plays....in adult second language acquisition."
---因為conclusion是based on the results 所以沒有問題
或是可以改寫成
On the basis of the results, we concluded that language aptitude plays a great role in adult second language acquisition."

以上的這種錯誤，叫做dangling modifier. 下面幾個是很典型的例子:
(1) Waiting for a bus, a brick fell on my head. (X)
(磚塊不可能wait for a bus)
(2) Looking in this way, the situation didn't seem that bad. (X)
(the situation 不可能 look)
(3) Sitting under an apple tree one night, a new idea came to Newton. (X)
(a new idea 不可能坐在蘋果樹下)
